COMMON QUESTIONS
Air-cooled or water-cooled — which is better for my project?
Air-cooled chillers are simpler and lower-cost to install, but less efficient and louder. Water-cooled chillers are more efficient and quieter, but require a cooling tower, water treatment system, and more plant room space. For large buildings above 500TR, water-cooled usually gives better lifetime value. We provide a comparative analysis as part of our feasibility study.
What is the typical energy efficiency of a modern chiller?
Modern magnetic-bearing centrifugal chillers achieve 0.15–0.55 kW/TR at full load, compared to 0.7–1.1 kW/TR for older reciprocating or screw chillers. Integrated part-load value (IPLV) is often a more meaningful metric — we provide IPLV calculations for every project.
How long does a chiller plant installation take?
A 200–500TR air-cooled chiller installation typically takes 8–12 weeks from order placement. A large water-cooled central plant (1,000TR+) with custom pipework and BMS integration typically takes 16–24 weeks. We provide a detailed programme at tender stage.
Do you offer an AMC after installation?
Yes. All our chiller projects come with a 12-month defects liability period and an optional Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) with 99.9% uptime SLA and 24/7 emergency response.
